MIKE HONE
Mike is the founder and Managing Partner of StartingBlock Partners. He brings experience in financial and people leadership for both large and start-up organizations.
Prior to founding StartingBlock, Mike worked as a regional Director for Home Health at Providence, one of the largest non-profit health systems in America. In a challenging time for the organization, he led his region in surpassing budgeted profit margins by over 1 million in 2022. Offered a promotion to expand his leadership role and manage a near 100 million revenue territory, Mike decided the time was right to return to his roots of small business ownership. He is now engaged full-time in the search to lead an organization into its next stage of growth.
Mike's past experience includes founding two successful healthcare businesses, the second of which was a Medicare-certified and personal care agency sold to a regional leader in post-acute services. Whether leading small independent or large system based teams, Mike uses a collaborative leadership style to solve problems, improve systems and build cohesive teams that consistently exceed key performance indicators.
As a clinician by background with a Master of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California, Mike values highly the service component of operations and believes the key to a great company is empowering amazing employees. In his spare time, Mike loves being outside hiking, mountain biking, and snowboarding. He is happily married to Kristen with two children.
